The Meaning Of Revelation
| ||
The Victorious Christ God will send great judgments upon the Earth during the future seven year period of time which is called the "Great Tribulation". Nevertheless, men and woman still alive upon the Earth will not repent of their sins or trust Christ. Instead, they will continue on in their wicked sin and rebellion against God. Christ will then come back to Earth with His Saints and set His feet upon the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. Christ will then quickly kill all of those "rebels" on the Earth and set up His Kingdom on the Earth, a Kingdom which will last for a thousand years. This thousand-year period of time will be characterized by great peace and prosperity for those living on the Earth: "And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea." (Isaiah 11:1-9) After this thousand year period has finished, Satan will then be loosed from his prison to roam about upon the Earth. Satan will work hard to deceive those who have not yet actually been converted to Christ. (This group of people might include resurrected babies who had died before the "age of accountability". It might also include those who had been born during that "Millennial Period" of Christ's Kingdom.) Satan will be wildly successful in his efforts at deceiving such lost people throughout the world. Satan will then gather this huge army of rebels together to fight against Christ and against His Saints. God's Judgments will then fall upon Satan and his followers and all of the rebels will be quickly executed. The Heavens and Earth will then be destroyed by God. The dead who rejected Christ during their lifetimes will then be brought back to life and forced to stand before the Great White Throne Judgment to receive the punishment due them for their sins. After their sins are read out loud, these lost men and women will be cast alive one by one into the flames of Eternal Hell: "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." (Revelation 20:11-15) After The Judgment of The Dammed is completed, Christ will then create a new Heavens and a new Earth. Those of us who have been saved by trusting Jesus will be then be given a mansion in Heaven -- a place with streets of gold and no night, pain, or death. All will be glorious then. "Even so, come, Lord Jesus." (Revelation 22:20)
