The Meaning Of Revelation

Meaning of The Book of Revelation

The Two Witnesses

There will be Two Witnesses that God will send into the world during the Great Tribulation period.  As was the case with the 144,000 Jewish Evangelists, these Two Witnesses will be Jewish as well.  In fact, they will have many of the same character traits as the 144,000 Jewish Evangelists.

Nevertheless, God will do two things for these Two Witnesses that He will probably not do for the 144,000 Jewish Evangelists:

(1) God will give them special protection from harm and death during their ministry.

(2) God will give these two men the power to perform various kinds of miracles:

"And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies:  and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.  These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy:  and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will." (Revelation 11:5-6)

The actual identity of these two Jewish Witnesses is a mystery, although they might include Moses and possibly Elijah as well.  Nevertheless, after over three years in this preaching ministry, God will finally allow these two men to be killed by the Antichrist.  After they are killed, the whole world will throw a huge party celebrating their murders.

The dead bodies of these two men will then lie uncovered and unmoved at the murder scene, so that the whole world might be able to see and enjoy this bloody, gory spectacle.  I expect that there will be many television close-ups of the blood and gore, in a manner similar to the way that the cameramen from "The Passion of The Christ" focused so heavily on the actor's blood and gore while making that movie.

God will then raise up these Two Witnesses back to life and will call them up to Heaven, to the astonishment of all of those watching on Satellite Television and on the Internet:

"And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.  And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.  And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another;  because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet;  and great fear fell upon them which saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither.  And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud;  and their enemies beheld them.  And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven." (Revelation 11:7-13)
